On this month Nissan car maker has unveiled new series Nissan Mobility Concept that takes the form of an ultra-compact 100 percent electric vehicle (EV) designed as a convenient mode of transportation for the increasing numbers of the elderly and single person households and also addresses the trend of driving short distance or in smaller groups.
While the company is withholding full details, it’s safe to assume motivation is provided by a small electric motor that produces 15 kW (20 hp) and 57 Nm (42 lb-ft) of torque. This likely means the NMC will have a range of 100km (62 miles) and a top speed of 75 km/h (47 mph).
We see the new Mobility Concept from NIssan Company best characterized by four different aspects, it is innovative as it features a two-seater configuration suitable for various needs and occasions, is is easy to drive and park, due to its compact size, it is safe (‘Manoeuvrability equivalent to motorbikes with greater safety’) and it is also clean, as it uses an emission free powertrain.
The Japanese manufacturer will also study the use of the NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT as a ‘seamless mobility service’ by using a public transportation service linking public transportation and EVs, plus it will or as a ‘2-mode EV car sharing’ which means the vehicle is being used a private commuter vehicle in the mornings and evenings, and as a corporate car during business hours.
Nissan hasn’t made any announcements about production, but the Twizy will go on sale late next year so it’s likely the NMC will be green-lighted as well. Stay tuned for more details with the NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT as soon as the company will release them.
