Peugeot automaker manufacture has demonstration of the exciting possibilities for electric power, the new Peugeot EX1 celebrates the brand’s 200th anniversary. The two-seater roadster concept car gets a visually striking futuristic styling and an ultra-light structure. Built to celebrate the company’s bicentennial, the roadster features a futuristic design with a “floating” grille, polished aluminum accents, and reverse-opening doors. Inside, occupants are surrounded by leather upholstery, metal trim, and a variety of digital displays.
EX1 Concept Power is provided by two electronic motors which produce a combined 250 kW (340 PS / 335 hp) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. Furthermore, one motor is mounted to each axle which gives the EX1 an advanced all-wheel drive system. While Peugeot was mum on details, the EX1 has already broken several acceleration records for an “electric powered terrestrial vehicle.”
The pure styling of this two-seater roadster is in keeping with its mechanical design, like a kind of “exoskeleton” highlighting the light-weight nature that guided the vehicle’s creation. The design of the body incorporates Peugeot’s new stylistic design codes, first seen on the SR1 concept car earlier this year, with its “floating” front grille and flowing contours. Polished aluminium components adorn the door surrounds in a reference to the RCZ and BB1.
