We see now it’s ‘black edition’ trend from automaker company, After the2011 Porsche Boxster S Black Edition launch, now Cadillac car maker has unveiled new car Black Diamond Edition of the high-performance CTS-V models, sedan, coupe and station wagon models. Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition that comes with a host of popular performance options and an exclusive tri-coat paint. The new Black Diamond Edition adds an extra a $4,850 over a standard CTS-V model, but it offers much better personalization list.
The main feature of the Cadillac CTS V Black Diamond is its exclusive tri-coat paint from which this special edition gets its name, and which represents the first use of JDSU’s SpectraFlair pigment in North America. Its pigments are used in certain DuPont paints supplied to Cadillac. Michelle Killen, Cadillac exterior paint designer said “The CTS-V Black Diamond Edition is like a finely crafted, tailored tuxedo,” and also said “The base color may be a simple black, but the details and richness of the material set it apart.”
From John Book, Custom Color Solutions product manager at JDSU said “Auto makers and consumers are looking to differentiate the color black, an ubiquitous color in automotive,” and also said “Black Diamond offers the discerning Cadillac customer a special option color that stands out and remains true to their sense of luxury and style.”
The Cadillac CTS V Black Diamond also comes with 19 inch Satin Graphite alloys, contrasting yellow brake callipers, sports seats from Recaro which are wrapped in French-stitched leather that also features microfiber suede inserts, plus Midnight Sapele wood trim.
The CTS-V Black Diamond Edition joins Cadillac’s award-winning V-Series line of performance luxury vehicles. The CTS-V Sedan, Coupe and Wagon all feature a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine with 556-horspower, Magnetic Ride Control suspension that reads and reacts to the road 1,000 times a second and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tire.
The Cadillac CTS V Black Diamond price starts at 69,190 USD for the manual transmission model, while the automatic costs 1,300 USD more. The Black Diamond Edition treatment can be applied to each of the CTS-V’s body styles (sedan, coupe and wagon), and dealership availability will begin in March 2011.
