Lexus car maker has released the Lexus CT 200h marks detail the introduction of the first, and only, full hybrid vehicle to the core of the premium compact segment. Lexus CT first ever compact, five-door car, the Lexus CT 200h full hybrid hatchback is a new gateway to Lexus. It introduces the company’s unique synthesis of quality, sophistication and high technology to the premium compact segment for the first time, and will bring a younger group of customers to the brand.
Lexus CT 200h with specifically designed and developed with the European market in mind ize, packaging, full hybrid technology and ultra-low emissions perfectly meet the requirements of a young, highly discerning, environmentallyconscientious customer base. Yet it offers no compromise on the refinement and driving pleasure which hallmark the progressive luxury inherent in every Lexus.
On sale early next year, the hybrid hatchback boasts ‘L finesse’ styling, a roof-mounted spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels and available LED headlights. Inside, the cabin features an eight-inch LCD display, metallic accents and soft touch materials. To further ease the minds of environmentalists, Lexus installed “bamboo charcoal-based resin diaphragm speakers” and bioplastic dashboard components.
Power for the Lexus CT 200h comes from a 1.8L VVT-i gasoline engine mated to a powerful electric-motor fueled by nickel-metal hydride batteries. The models produces a total system output of 134 hp allowing it to go from 0-60 mph in 9.8 seconds. The 2011 CT 200h gets a combined EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 42 mpg. Unlike a mild-hybrid system, the CT 200h has an EV (electric-vehicle) mode that allows it to run on only on its electric-motor for up to 1.2 miles at speeds of up to 28 mph.
