Bertone B99 presented concept for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2011, presented by the Italian design house vision for a more traditional style with small Jaguar.
Official photos were leaked Thursday by Germany’s Auto Bild.
UK Autocar published a long feature on the car, including an interview with Bertone’s chief designer Mike Robinson, with the words, “Jaguars are looking for a new design direction and was quoted a small car – and we think this the right way, with a very light green house and the visual weight on the wheels concentrated. ”
The magazine is the Bertone concept with Jaguar “is made with Italian design house” award from Jaguar design chief Ian Callum, “which must have approved the design.
The B99 is relatively compact, 181 centimeters long. It is only 53 inches high and a rather generous 77 inches wide. Several European publications reported that the small Jaguar concept is meant to last days of the British carmaker rival for the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class to give – a role that does not meet now defunct X-Type never fully .
Autocar said Jaguar is an entry-level compact sedan in 2013-’14 to present planning.
The B99 has clamshell doors and a modified version of the current XF XJ grille. But his lines and the overall styling theme echoes former Jaguar design, especially the original XJ.
The concept of the car is made of brushed aluminum, leather and polished wood, and prepared analog meters, a pop-up button and a satellite navigation screen hidden behind a sliding door, according to Autocar.
