Even if there’s no new information on hand these photos speak for themselves, at least for the Porsche enthusiasts. The new 911 Speedster combines the classic features of this type of Porsche sports car with further improved performance of the current 911 generation.
The new Porsche 911 Speedster has features 3.8-liter flat six engine delivers 408 horsepower (hp), 23 hp more in comparison with the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, yet is EPA rated the same at 19 mpg city / 27 mpg highway. The 2011 Porsche Speedster reaches 0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds with Sport Chrono Plus and has a top-track speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).
Distinguishing the Speedster from the rest of the 911 line is the curvaceous windscreen reminiscent of the 356 Speedster of old, a lowered suspension (by 60 mm) and a double-bubble hardcover for the soft top right behind the two headrests. The Speedster is also 44 mm wider at the rear.
The Speedster is also detailed by Porsche Exclusive – the luxury sports-car maker’s individualization unit. That includes a hand-finished interior in smooth black leather, a checkerboard pattern in the middle of the lower seat (between the legs) and a specialized exterior color called Pure Blue created exclusively for the Speedster. The Porsche 911 Speedster goes on sale in Germany in December with a price tag of €201,682, including VAT.
